Sorrow

by Mike Rasmussen

I wish I knew just what is blue
and what is red or green
For then I could
describe to you
the wondrous things I've seen.

For as you know
I have been here
for near a million years
and in that time the darkness
was all there was to see.

But now you blind me with your light
and wrack me with your words
I cannot tell you what is what
nor how things are, these days.
I will, however, have you know
'tis I to whom you pray.
