A Doorway of Perception

by Lloyd Michael Lohr

I would rather stand with the Aboriginal Holy man,
and his 40,000 years of ancestral wisdom and folklore,
than walk beside the scientist with his mechanisms of modernity,
for he is the one who goes blindly into the Dreamtime,
not understanding,
and the serpent wind howls at his folly,
for a whisper that rides the verve of dream,
gains strength with every passing moment.
