Interstellar Déjà Vu

by Kenneth Vincent Walker

Oh, some have suggested
That they came from just
Over 400 lightyears away
From the Pleiades Cluster
Of stars in our Milky Way.

Drawn to an indigo orb,
The third planet from the
Sun, the one teaming with
Life and life in abundance.

Oh, I cannot prove this to
Be true, but I do know that
Man's brain exponentially
Grew at such a rapid rate
Surpassing all lifeforms

Held captive in the zoo,
Who know nothing of music,
Of art, and mathematics;
Yet we are all connected

By an interstellar déjà vu.

Kenneth Vincent Walker is a "New Formalist" poet, spoken word artist, performer and author of Borderline Absurd (An Exercise in Rhyme and Reason), published by Poem Sugar Press/ Community Arts Ink, 2015, and available on Amazon. Also he is published in numerous online magazines, journals and blogs.

Kenneth has been labeled a "wordsmith" and has read, recited and performed his eloquent and eclectic brand of poetry reminiscent of the Golden Age and the Romantic Era with a Beatnik to modern sensibility and twist at coffeehouses, bookstores and outdoor festivals throughout the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States.
