Grandfather Paradox

by Paul Van Peenen

Didn't like the way things were going
So, for a change, I studied hard,
Applied to medical school,
Was accepted, learned a few tricks
And then, when I felt ready,
I let that wormhole suck me back
Sixty years, back to the Michigan
Farmhouse where my grandfather
Grew into a young man.

No, I did not murder him.

I simply sedated him, brought out
My surgical tools and performed
A quick vasectomy so that abracadabra,
None of this ever happened.
