As Stars Decay

by Meg Smith

In a dark room of monitors,
a strange music and light
from the hallway, and
creaking carts, and tired voices.
This is a very old song.
A snippet of the universe is
unraveling, falling in a quiet light.
And light may rise, and turn
in its orbit, and seek a new light
for its own.
