The Biggest Drug Dealer in Town

by Jean Jones

The world that we think exists
and the world that does exist
are 2 different worlds-
There is a world
where people go to church
and go to work-
and underneath that
is the world of the illegal
where prostitutes and drug dealers live-
Near that world is the world of illegal things
from guns to drugs and sex near the pawn shops
where I used to work near the world of the desperate
where the junkies steal bikes lawn equipment and construction tools
next to where the strippers pawn their jewelry
and just around the corner is Satan himself,
the biggest drug dealer in town,
but just beyond him is the natural,
where clouds and mountains live
and this is the home of God himself
and I go visit Him
when I tire
of seeing the Devil
everywhere
in the world of men.
