Our Root Stock

Or
The Meek Will Inherit the Cinders

by Richard Tornello

So who will be the first today to say, "No more"?
Who will be willing to take that chance?

It's a given, the big guy usually wins. Then it's a take'n.

Weak, with strong motivation and tenacity, that works too,
…sometimes.

Though technology is not always a guarantee of victory,
its a good bet, coupled with the above.
And,
the big guy usually has it all.

So who will be the first today to say, "No more"?.
Who will be willing to take that chance?
While ignoring history and pre-history,
and put down the guns while asking
Our hominoid cousins, are where? What happened to them?

(A pre history test question, 100 words or less. Blue Books will be passed out).

Who wants to make that bet ,knowing
History and human motivation?
And all you, hey you on the street!
You who know directly and have seen and lived it.
Tell me
Straight faced, common sense? Convince me.

As much as I would like to believe otherwise, I know
there may be no perpetual motion,
but Perpetual War?

You bet since our pre beginnings as a nation, no let up
And still today.

And the rest of the planet, who there

Will say "No More",

and still be standing?

Convince me, straight faced, give me ten examples,
and then
give me one that exists yet.
Convince me.

So with Elon, Boeing, China and all the rest
onward and upward to Mars,
where we'll really fuck it up,
from the get-go,
with good intentions too.

buy and from, all our best.
