Cosmic Chatter

by Robin B. Lipinski

From nothing of heat or cold came a moment of new reality
Taking the Universe now known
with a bang.

Light filled a darkness
now filled
with cold and heat.

Galaxies, planets, comets, moons, suns…
dancing in chaos to form a pattern of unpredictability.
With life doing the same, evolving with the dance;
burning out or freezing;
species trying to find a balance on a small scale
in the grand scheme.

Vacuum cleaner of black holes to keep it all tidy.
Anti-matter, dark matter, to balance 'things'
and stillness of nothing still containing extreme cold and extreme heat.

It all sounds mysterious and scientific with logic reigning,
until mortal elements come to realize they are just pawns
in a cosmic game.

True, the Universe mostly tends to be quiet and quiet cold,
yet watch out,
when God dials up the thermostat and decides to turn up the heat.

The end of brrr and the beginning of ouch.
