The Fall of Darkness

by Martin Tomlinson

Voices sing of dawn,
Dancing all night long,
telling of a long forgotten time

When gaints fell,
and mortals rose,
and ashes everywhere.

The darkness came from the deep
telling all to quake in fear.

A hero came into the bright,
Hoping to turn darkness into light.

He fought. He fought,
and many a man did fall.
He pushed the darkness back.
Soon out of night rose day
