The Circle Complete

by Alasdair Muir

Echoes, Voices, Steps and Stone
the concrete walls standing tall
a city of a million souls.
Yet what place have souls and magic
in this lost place of
science, logic, and rational man?
Perhaps the most praised:
for who is brilliant that is not mad?
Who solves the riddle of logic but
with the heart of a mage?
Til the circle is walked and closed
and we stand once more in fear of night
and cower in concrete towers?

Alasdair has the misfortune of being the Editor’s Godson, and this will teach him to show his Nuncle his work :-). Alasdair is a law student in Wellington, NZ. He assures us that passing the bar does not involve the ritual sacrifice of babies. But then they would say that, wouldn’t they?
