Nighteyes

by Daniel C Smith

The sky laughs at me
and the moon casts
its pale judgment
on my dark actions.
The stars- a million points
of scorn, stinging me
with rebuke as I run
towards the morning
and away from the urges
and the Eyes of the Night.

In the arena of speculative fiction, Daniel C Smith has over thirty short stories and poems either published or awaiting publication with various small press and semi-professional magazines, both print and web, including Bare Bone, Hadrosaur Tales, Revelation, The Leading Edge, The Martian Wave and Scifakuest. In addition, I have published more ‘mainstream’ poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction in such venues as Inscape, Liquid Ohio, MindFireRenewed, and The SiNK.
