Six-Ring Haiku

by Kate Thornton

The easy road gone,
Destiny is not a choice
But no stories end.

What does mortal mean,
When Death rides among us and
Only Men survive?

What does evil mean,
When the earth circles the sun
In an endless ring?

What does hero mean,
In times of dim memory
And forgotten quests?

Magic in that time
Of wonder and bravery.
The story retold.

Magic in our times,
Flickering brightly onscreen.
Stories never end.
