The Universe is a hostile place. Threats to every living thing come in
all sizes and shapes. From the tiniest virus to the exploding of nearby
stars. The Universe doesn't care if you've just had a child, or are
just entering retirement -- All the universe cares about is the minute
effects of gravity over long periods of time. To the physical universe,
organic life is a distraction at best, a dead-end at worst. Life was
something that chemicals got
up to when they were bored... Only the tug and sway of gravitational
attraction meant anything to the universe, in the long term. But
sometimes gravity got up to some pretty strange tricks all by itself.
Over the eons, destiny can be measured in gravitational
perturbations... What killed the dinosaurs 65 million years ago?
Gravity and Time. Sometimes that's all it takes- gravity and lots and
lots of time...
And just what could Nightwatch do against the forces of entropy?
You'd be freakin' amazed--
