Valentine's Day Massacre

The Fall of Cupid (reprise)

A Poem, by Bubba

Cupid, dainty wings abeat
Wings slings and arrows
Of outrageous proportions
At mere mortals far beneath.

A glance askance, by the amorous elf
Brings shocked surprise
At cruel crosshairs, a drawn bead
Fixed unwavering 'pon himself

"Venus, Aphrodite!"
'Claimed Love's Propagate
Wouldst see a fire of
Explosives mighty!

Oh!  A sad and tragic fate
Saw poor Cupid
Trail rapturous, smoky flames
En flagrante roseate!

Splashed 'pon the seas,
Where Venus D' Milo,
Gathers poor Cupid
Into loving, er, knees

And in the land of mortal sin
Two bumpkins, spat and hawked
With Red-Man 'baccy o'erflowed
On dribbled, stippled, chins

Eyes glinting, squinting,
Flinty features bending
In wide-split toothless grins
"Thass right, Clem, Ah KNOWED
'at 12-guage'd do 'im in!"
