Wi-zard

by Robin B. Lipinski

Blind since birth, blind to the horrors of reality, never has he seen.
Father was consumed while in the consummation of lust
Mother was given to possession of a lost mind at birth
Sister absorbed and taken from her, the force.

Mother of his to be was with witch, with meaning of magic; carrier of the touch
Gathering season of Fall; alignment of planets, gods touched this young blind man
Sparks flashing to blind, torch of magic to burn
He knew though he could not see, he knew, he knew what there was.

Young stag bursting forth from bushes burnt as the spark cast, called
Owl, feathered wing scorched, alighted on outstretched hand…
“Ta lo, min tou, Ta lo samint…”
Now, the bond forged while the fires cooled, the stag devoured, lion of the Blue Kingdom
it starts.

Centuries after millennia , this wizard conquered all.
Wizard, witch, King, peasant,
soon, even the gods
all without sight but with magic he knew, he knew what there was.

His was not to be named, nor was there his body, his spirit, his soul - lost
Spinning out in nebula, feasting comet upon comet, shattered moon, shattered planet
living in his force with his only friend, what once was long, long ago - an owl
so grew this wizard into something more than the force of magic
feeling what was.

Mortal woman held sway, once, once upon a time
this man was now far removed from lust…
though
she too held the seed of force.

Like a bee to pollen, a fly to carrion, a politician to corruption…
he came
she smiled as she cast the bones turning to turned cards
he came, he knew what was
she smiled, she knew what was
a marriage of sorts as dictated by chance.

Two magnets, attractions of force, magic did its part until…
Like sister before, used and discarded flesh to show
this wizard and witch merged,
the owl screamed
the universe tilted
she wanted direction, he wanted nothing of any part,
and here we are today,
divorced,
split,
divided…
you can now know… or can you?
Do you too know what there was?
Or, are you blind like a wizard once a boy and now more, so much more?

The wizard was blind, blind since birth and yet still knew what there was
Even now his name has outgrown the moment and stretches
Stretches as his power grows, rejoined by the owl now a galaxy of stars
Wizard
Wi - zard
Zard, keeper of the Blue Kingdom, the one who knew what there was,
no longer blind…
G-od

Again, as with infinity, it starts.
