November Flash Challenge - the Results

Good day, folks

So, the votes are in, and that Dutcher woman has struck again!
In first place, with four votes: The Tale of the Blue Raven by Bottomdweller
With one each:
Last Night in Cancun by JonTrue
Taylor and the Sloth by JPHarrin
My Old Were-ferret Plush... by Sergio ‘ente per ente’ Palumbo
And coming in behind:
AC/DC by Robin Lipinski

I thought Robin's concept of a WereMan was a nice twist on the concept myself...
KNEEL before Zod!

Congrats, Michele! Excellent work!

I made some very brief notes:

Last Night in Cancun--Head-hopping in first paragraph.

The Tale of the Blue Raven-- ***** [that's five stars].

Taylor and the Sloth--Surprising trick, with explanation.

My Old Were-ferret Plush...--Too much explanation--info-dump. Weak resolution; kid with no immigration papers.

AC/DC--Were-sex change? Novel idea.
I was raised by humans. What's your excuse?

Hi Ho everyone! Thanks for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed my story.
I voted for Sergio's story - about the toy animal that changes into a real one if it feels endangered. I thought it would make a good Twilight Zone episode - which is kind of my measuring stick with flash stories.
It took me a couple of weeks to think up the Tale of the Blue Raven. I was afraid it might be cultural appropriation - but maybe it's just historical fiction. I liked it too. Thanks again! Good luck to everyone in December's challenge!
Since the house is on fire - at least let us warm ourselves.
