All Paths Lead Home, by Stephen Faulkner

Interesting idea, pretty good plot. You could say it was "Groundhog Day " without jokes.

The stilted prose was off-putting but I suppose it did serve to place the story into a timeless realm. Or perhaps the author was trying to parody the style of his namesake.

I was grateful for the upbeat ending; the endless cycle of tedium that is life is definitely more bearable when shared with a companion.

The beginning was a little slow, but I thought it picked up nicely. The old man who lived under ground was great, and the ending was just the kind of sweet ending that I like with a refreshing dose of optimism. Very nice.
