All Paths Lead Home, by Stephen Faulkner

Interesting idea, pretty good plot. You could say it was "Groundhog Day " without jokes.

The stilted prose was off-putting but I suppose it did serve to place the story into a timeless realm. Or perhaps the author was trying to parody the style of his namesake.

I was grateful for the upbeat ending; the endless cycle of tedium that is life is definitely more bearable when shared with a companion.
