Voting Stage - May Flash Fiction Challenge
Over the summer months, I will be changing things in the flash fiction challenges, trying new things and promoting the challenges to both experienced and new writers.
This is a place where we care about the writers as people as well as the growth of their gifts.
The most important part of this work for me is meeting and communicating with the authors.
The main purpose of these flash fiction challenges is to have joy in the writing and the camaraderie of fellowship with other writers.
Commenting
Comments begin now.
I am placing the voting set up prompt and each story in a separate post. This way, when a reader finishes a story, they can click the quote button and leave an immediate comment.
Authors can post comments about their own stories, how they conceived the idea, develop their plot and characters and any thoughts they had when creating their stories.
Authors and readers can comment on stories as they read. Do not be afraid to express your opinion - nicely.
The commenting is as important as the voting. This is where you meet and greet.
Members may discuss writing in general and writing techniques.
So keep clicking the quote button after reading each story and comment away!
How to Vote
Paste “The Story Line Up” into the body of your e-mail. Rank your top 3 favorite stories by placing a 1, 2 and 3 after their story title. Leave the other stories without a number.
Then send them to me (Daniel Johnson) through e-mail by clicking on this address - flash@aphelion-webzine.com and I will tabulate the votes as they come in.
The voting will conclude on Sunday at 5 pm Central Standard Time on May 28, 2017. The results will be posted in this topic thereafter.
Protective Measures
I am pleased to help anyone understand and implement the rules and guidelines for these challenges.
But there is one overriding rule that everyone must follow.
Do not be rude, which includes mocking, insulting or take a negative tone with any author or their stories.
Comments can be instructive without being critical. Remember, you’re communicating with a real person. Always be kind.
I will not tolerate conflict or disruptive behavior in these challenges. If there is a problem, send me an e-mail.
There are a number of options I have to moderate forum decorum. These include warnings, and more stricter measures if necessary.
I don’t want to do any disciplinarian actions so be kind to everyone in these challenges.
Alright, let’s have some fun!
