A Winter Solstice Prayer by Richard Tornello

Having just survived one more December with people around me screaming "Jesus is the Reason for the Season" - it's good to read a poem like this which brings the reason back into perspective. All cultures, all religions, have some ritual, some festival that nudges us towards rediscovering that we are all children of Earth, system Sol, galaxy Milky Way - and although things are cold and dark outside just now, light and heat will come again.
A prayer for understanding others definately begins with us understanding ourselves and our connection to the universe.
I continue to enjoy Richard's poetry, which emotionally ties all that is out there with the hopes and fears inside each of us. Good job.
Since the house is on fire - at least let us warm ourselves.
