Not Forgiven by William Landis

My youngest boy did this, so I know it’s an ongoing theme amongst young men. He signed up for the ‘French Foreign Legion’ when he broke up with his girlfriend (again). But how seriously are we supposed to take these sentences: “My dieing thought Will be of you…” or “The guilt I can not live with I would rather die”. P.S. dieing should be spelled dying.

“…better to die…Than to live With a broken heart…” A bit of overkill, don’t you think?

Here’s the good/bad news: If you want her/him to come back – he/she will – so that you can eventually dump them.
Since the house is on fire - at least let us warm ourselves.

Yes, it's an ongoing theme. I survived a bout with this disease myself, once writing to my then-love-interest that if she wouldn't have me, I'd have no choice but to join the Hell's Angels.

I kid you not. (Those of you who've met me in person may now feel free to laugh until the tears run down your legs.)

I'm certainly grateful to have grown out of that. Maybe this is meant to be a reminder of just how awful adolescence really is. Show it to all the pre-adolescents as a warning: "This is what you are about to become!"
I was raised by humans. What's your excuse?
