Glimmering Embers (by) Richard H. Fay

Heh someone forgot the "by", so I hereby declare Richard Fay to be a Glimmering Ember!

This one merges well with Ms. Smith's item. Shade Summoning might qualify, since the lack of caps leads me to think it's not The Dark Lord under discussion.

With my volatile personality, at times I may be more than a glimmering ember, I may be a regular raging inferno!

"A dark lord" isn't necessarily "The Dark Lord". I guess the "a" hints at it being one of many.

Looking at this piece again, if I were to write it today, I might drop the "a" altogether. That would leave it more open to interpretation whether I meant THE Dark Lord, or just one of several.

I'd have a binary problem with the capitals. All the best Dark Lords get capital letters, and the best names in the genre. "dark lord" sounds like a lackey at Dark Lord and Associates.

Edit:
Better yet - a band!!

Dragoslav Mithridion and the dark lords!
