A Warning by Bruce Whealton

Vampires, hmm?
Yet half way through it's fairly clear this is not discussing your garden variety Bela L. creature.

A Warning

The part of this I find the most interesting is the assertion that, to find a vampire, don't look for something - rather the absence of something. Interesting. I've been to open casket funerals (which are rather odd to begin with) and seen exactly what you're talking about. There is the body, but they don't look as if they're sleeping - they look gone. To see the ones who are absent walking around is a good way to describe what a vampire might look like. Good job!
Since the house is on fire - at least let us warm ourselves.

open casket

In fact, I can tell when someone old or sick is going to die soon. There is something about the skin that tells you they will be leaving soon. Once you've seen it, you'll know what I mean.
And what's the deal with only having the head in a box? Gross. Death. It's such a messing way to go.
