Good job, Jon!

A blatantly political dig, which I don't usually approve of, but it's historically been part of the job of speculative fiction writers ... and I got a big laugh out of it, to boot.
I was raised by humans. What's your excuse?

Thanks, I just read poetry and politics don't mix while reading Steven King's Tommyknockers. Apparently, his fictional publishers are not the only ones who think so. I'll keep that in mind for the future.

With the scores so even I'd say it was about a draw across the board. I liked all of the stories and certainly wouldn't have thought mine was a better read than any of the others.

Re: June Flash Challenge - The results

I'm pleased the results were strewn evenly across the board. I voted for Sergio's story because I thought it answered the challenge the best: why don't you want to disturb a dragon? - because killing it might take things from bad to worse.
I liked Jon's premise but I didn't like the trump ending...I thought it was a good enough story to have deserved a 'real' ending.
Thanks to the people who voted for my story. I had a dream once that I was killing a monster, but by the time the dream ended I realized the creature was really a white fox, which by that the end had to be killed out of kindness. ..horrible dream.
Since the house is on fire - at least let us warm ourselves.
