Planning holidays in North America 2015...

As I already told Michele "bottomdweller", I'm just planning my next holidays to North America to be held in the middle of October, more or less, as every year...I can stay only a few days in the U.S., cause of a lot of work to be done back home- and they want me back to Italy, so, just a few days of vacation again  ;D ...- and I will be in Canada at first for a famous scale model show/contest, and then in Chicago and in Ohio...

Anyway, a good place where to have the usual Aphelion/Quantum Muse/AnothRealm annual meeting ( with food and beers, many beers of course...eh,eh) will be Dayton, Ohio this year, as I have never been there, and there is a HUGE Air Force Museum of flight to be visited in that place, not far from downtown, undoubtedly!!!

So, what do you think about? Anyone interested? Of course, as the previous years, I'll have some good European chocolate/cakes for all of you, if they are not seized from the customs of course...More details will follow soon, well, over the course of the next days...

Just let me know... :D :D :D

I'll be there if I can, but I need to find out the date(s) you'll be here. I have an old friend coming to Ohio from the West coast that month, so there might be a conflict. I need to find out when he'll be here. Let us know the dates as soon as you can.

That might be close. My friend will be here on or around the 10th; I've got to wait for him to send me particulars.

Hope to make it; it might be an unusually busy few days for me!

Sorry. I can't on that quick notice. That is like going from Florence to Paris on a Tuesday.

Re: Planning holidays in North America 2015...

eh,eh...actually once I got from Florence to Paris by train the same day, it is about a 10 hours trip... but it was long ago, before I left Florence to go living in the northern Italy...eh,eh

Jesting apart, if you just plan on reaching us, you will be welcome, indeed...eh,eh!!! :D

Fact is that after Dayton I'll go to Chicago and then to Toronto before going back to Europe, so, also this year I have not many free days for my vacation cause of my job back home , you know... :? :D

Thank you for the invitation. Put me in the maybe column for now, currently I have plans to be out of state on the 11th but those may fall through, I should know more by tomorrow. If they do, I should be able to attend, I'll keep you up to speed.

All right, unfortunately I'm out. I'm going to be on vacation from the 10th to the 11th and I'm afraid I don't have enough time off work to do that and attend the meet-up. I really appreciate the invite though, thanks Sergio.

Well, we made it again, and everyone went home with mementos—this is turning into an annual gift exchange, lol!

Sergio is extremely generous, and I very much appreciate that. I can count on a nice chocolate binge after each of these get-togethers.

I got one picture, courtesy of the nice bartender at the hotel.

You'll notice I look a little different ... I hadn't seen my face in so long I decided to uncover it. I discovered the beginnings of a chin-wattle, so I think I'll grow the fur back, but I'm willing to entertain arguments to the contrary.

Great photo Curtis! It was a fun trip, but the hotel I stayed in was a little spooky! Maybe it will show up in a story eventually.

Re: Planning holidays in North America 2015...

I didn't sleep there, but the spookiest thing I noticed about that hotel was its free indoor parking. FREE parking—IN the building. You can't help but be suspicious of something like that.

Didn't either of you others get any other pictures? I know the ones in the bar would be redundant, but maybe one of them caught me with a better expression on my face. Or any expression at all; I look like I'd just been flashed by the MIB instead of my own camera. Maybe I should work on that.

Also, seeing that the gift exchanges are lately including publications, remind me to ask for autographs next time.

Re: Planning holidays in North America 2015...

Hi, Lester!!! I'll complete the download of the many pictures I took when on vacation after this week, when I'm done with the Scale Model show- and with a Fantasy Litarary Contest annexed- in Italian...-that will be held by means of my Club at the end of this week in Savona...eh,eh

About autographs , don't worry, I usually never give one of them, as my signature might be used to be put on an unwanted promissory note somewhere...or someone might even discover that my handwriting is really that bad...eh,eh
