Flash story contest

6th Annual Micro Awards

It's that time of year again! That's right, the 6th Annual Micro
Award is open for submissions through Dec 31st. The rules remain
largely unchanged except that we will only be accepting electronic
submissions this year. For the second straight year we have a record
number of judges, which will likely lead to another record number of
finalists (we honored 16 stories last year). I hope to see one of
your stories there when the next winners are announced! Please read
official rules page before submitting.

Be sure to tell others--your friends, your editors, and your
fans--that you're submitting your work to the 6th Annual Micro Award.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me. Good luck!

Re: Flash story contest

I think this contest is in trouble.

The original date given for posting the winners' names was April 29, 2013. I had submitted my story, "Jed," but unlike last year, have not gotten a confirmation email for my entry.

On April 29, I went to the site to see the results. No results. I checked all the links on the page, twice. Rechecked the date given for the announcement. No change.

I checked again on April 30. Still no results, but, looking carefully, I noticed that the award announcement date had been changed to June 30. No other change to the page at all, just a sneaky little change in the award date; no explanation.

So, today I went to look at the site and what do I find? This:
Due to the high volume of great stories, it's taking me longer than expected to pick the top 30 for the judges. The final results will be announced on September 1, 2013.

Not only are we looking for great stories, but we're also looking for a talented graphic designer to help spruce up our website.

I just sent Mr. Presley an email suggesting that he leave the web-page alone (I like it the way it is, personally) and work on the contest instead. Maybe if he hears this from a few other folks (hint), he'll get back on track.
I was raised by humans. What's your excuse?

Re: Flash story contest

Well, I'm gonna call it now: the Micro Award is dead. Kaput. Finis. Nine days late for the final announcement date, and no activity on the page. I never did get a confirmation email for my entry.
