Back Issue index completed to end of 2011

Er, the previous message should have said "to the end of 2010". However, the Back Issue Index NOW covers up to the end of 2011. Honest.

Re: Aphelion Author Index 2013

I'm about halfway finished with the extraction of the forum poetry of Robin Lipinski. He has made 94 posts so far and I must review each one. Tedious - but rewarding, in that this is really superb philosophical poetry.

However, I could use some hard driving music in the background about now. Where are "The Partridge Family" when you really need them!

Back Issue index UP TO DATE

I think I'll go lie down now...

Of course I really should be working on the February issue -- which will be easier now that I can see all the 2012 material without using FTP or searching the directories on my computer...

Mark Edgemon wrote:I know what you are saying but...75% of his forum poetry do not have titles or bylines or there again, tricky bylines. It is much easier for me to extract each poem one at a time, copy and paste into his collection, then format adding the post date, so that we HAVE actual titles and dates to go by. It would be best to create spreadsheets after the collection has been put together, so I know what we've got.

Sure Mark, I am satisfied with this now. It will be nice to have it all in one place too.

Robin Lipinski Forum Poetry Project Completed

100% of Robin Lipinski's forum poetry is reposted in the Fun and Games folder under the thread title, "The Poetry of Robin B. Lipinski". It took about 15 hours to sort through all 94 of his previous posts, move the poetry to the new thread and reformat the title, byline and post date.

After I rest up, I'll begin working with Richard Tornello in doing the same for his forum poetry and create a list of his official edition published poetry and short stories.

The only way I know to account for work of the prolific poets of Aphelion is to process them one at a time.

Now current up to the Oct. 2012 issue . . . the index shows links for more recent issues, but they take you to Oct. 2012.

That will get fixed soon, I'm sure. Tao, Robert, and anyone else in on that project -- my hat's off to you for a great job!

Actually, the index links for November 2011 and December 2011 / January 2012 are correct -- I just forgot to change the month and issue number in the headings. (Sigh)

Poetry Listing Project

Tao,

I've communicated with Iain and he said he is working on a list of all the edition poetry by issue, including the most prolific. He will work directly with you on that.

I have finished locating and listing all of Robin Lipinski's forum poetry in the Fun and Games folder, formated the way you wanted.

Now, I will work with Richard Tornello on his forum poetry and complete that project.

That's great, Mark!
Now we get to use the fact that it's a single author, and a feature of the program. I have mostly finished the Flash Index, with a little formatting and the last couple of issues missing, so this is a nice bit to move on to.

Edit: Hi Mark, it looks like a couple of the items came through with itty date slips. I am assuming that the ones that say "2001" are really "2011". You can fix them in your posts later, I am just noting it for that "formatting stage" way later when we get the big stuff done.

Mark Edgemon's poetry

Hi Mark,

Is most of your poetry collected in the "Strengthening Poetic Muscle" thread? I can begin to borrow the existing posts of those and then you can help me figure out of important other stuff floated into other places.

100% of my forum poetry is in "Strengthening Poetic Muscle" and 100% of Robin Lipinski's forum poetry is in the thread titled, "The Poetry of Robin Lipinski".

I've set up a thread for Richard Tornello and will contact him tomorrow to locate his forum poetry.

As far as I know, no other person has poetry in the forums except the three of us. Maybe one or two off the cuff pieces by others. I'm not looking for them.

I found 2 errors; a date showing 2001 instead of 2011 and a small "f" for Feb. instead of a capital "F".

I've repaired both.

My notes had both of these as with the "2001" date.

Merlin's Herpesviridae (as "the old Goat had style") July 12, 2011 **
Duality (as "split personality.") July 12, 2011 **

No Tao, "Duality" is correct. Notice there are no last edited notations at the bottom of the post. It looks like this:

Duality
By split personality. (a.k.a. Robin B. Lipinski)
July 11, 2011

Nevertheless, I scanned everything and it looks right. Let me know if you find anything else.

And so it is! Our eyes will all be bugging a little while we do all this!

I'll say again that I am absolutely forgiving folks for the minor stuff for a fair while - there's still big swathes to do. Sometime later we can all do a "glitch-swiping" episode. So Mark if basically all your poetry is in the Poetic Muscle section that's useful, and I'll put that on my short list of stuff to do.

Does anyone know if a master list of Dan's editorials exists? If they only begin later on to be kept as separate files I have some suggested remakes of the early ones.

Richard Tornello Edition Publications

I know I'm repeating myself, but it helps to know where I am with the work. I've finished 100% of mine and Robin's forum poetry and my edition published works.

Now, I'm working with Richard, who is working with Iain to assemble his listing of edition publications.

This list is from 2012.

Ah...okay, should I no longer work on the poetry, either the top 7 prolific poets or Richard's pieces? If you are working up everything from inception, it sounds like you've got everything under control.

I'm going with that premise, however if you need something from me, let me know.

Mark, this is a great and huge effort. I appreciate it as well as all the others and I'm guessing the future contributors too.

As you know I'm waiting on Iain. I lost a hard drive some time ago and the record of the older publications are somewhere in the ozone and on another hard drive that I can't seem to access.
Those technical issues will be ironed out but not for some time.

As soon as I get them I'll forward unless Iain send them to you too. Having them to refer back to is a great tool and who knows maybe even a new Aphelion book.

Thank you for all you've done for me personally, and for the ZINE as a whole.
