Writing the story premise

This is an interesting article explaining why and how to write a story premise. I've tried this a few times, and it's helped. If I'm not sure where or how to begin a story, I've found creating the premise first helpful. I've also created the premise after writing the first draft of a short story to help me clarify the crazy jumbled mess of words staring back at me.

How about you? Have you tried writing a story premise? It might help when crafting your flash Challenge stories.

Re: Writing the story premise

My entry that appeared with David Wright and Zahid Zaman; I will say it's genesis was an e-mall to a buddy in Chicago and a phone conversation with my late grandmother. The inclusion of this came way of staying with a friend in Chicago and I will show his artwork here. If I can find it but I will show you the TOC mate who really stole the thunder of Lawrence Dagstine and the rest of the alumni cheered him on.
