Machines and morality

How many of our moral choices would we cede to automation? One example brought up here was of an autonomous lawnmower running over small creatures, where a human operator might avoid doing so. It's interesting, because this kind of questioning forces one to think deeply about the smallest details, things we might fail to consider.
I was raised by humans. What's your excuse?
