quite clear and short. i just can't figure out why the alien parents were glad? was it because the alien teenagers were delighted in expressing themselves?

Lee

I think it's cuz we humans don't get that the alien youth are committing acts of vandalism. Thus, we can't go knocking on alien dad's door and bust his chops to pay for damages.

Dan E.

yeah but are they happy that we don't even fathom the whole thing, that we can't get to them coz of technological limitations, or because they're kids are having a good time at our expense? or maybe it's like the alien leaders from War of the Worlds (TV) said:

"humans are fungus. There can be no dialog with fungus."

Lee

Re: Astrophysical Graffiti by Daniel C Smith

Frankly, I think the alien parents are relieved that they won't be held accountable for their rowdy kids, whatever the reason may be. Anyway, that's how I'd feel if I realized I wasn't going to have to pay for my kid's lawn job two streets over.

See, I've stripped this piece of all its sci-fi trappings.

Dan E.

True, some of our height- and pigment-challenged offworld brethren have been known to be -- less than considerate -- but that does not excuse any such hateful remarks. (Besides, there are those who have expressed fondness for that whole 'probing' thing. Not me, though. Too hard on the 'roids.)

Robert 'Too Much Information' M.
