Forgotten

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Nate and everyone at Aphelion for selecting my story this month. It means a hell of a lot! You're doing fantastic work. To keep it going for 20 years on top of everything else life has to throw at you is no mean feat.

I'm always looking to improve as a writer, so if anyone's been kind enough to read my story please let me know what you think!

All the best, chaps

Re: Forgotten

Read the story and liked it. Especially the part about magpies. Skota, the trickster. Amazing what they are capable of.

The story flowed well for me to read and the names you chose for the characters were not mind-bending ones.

Good job. As for improving, ha. Why bother? Just write the way you like and screw the readers if they don't like it (all in my humble opinion of course)

Re: Forgotten

Thanks for reading! I really do appreciate it.

Magpies fascinate me. The range of language they have is quite incredible. A lot of people don't like them, and I can't see why!

Thanks again

Re: Forgotten

This story is so well-written. The ending is upsetting of course. Not all stories will have happy endings, especially for nomadic river folk! I enjoyed reading this story about an older woman who has family, memories, and knowledge that no matter how old you are, you still have value.
