"Beneath the Cherry-Lace Trees" by James Tatum

Well, I certainly loved the theme of this story. The whole idea of how easily we humans are seduced into believing that somehow we can go back and recapture some supposedly more innocent and happier state.

I thought the beginning was slow and dragged a little, but then things picked up and certainly from the time Shirley meets Faron, the story gains some speed. And what a ... well, I want to call it a splendid idea -- the alien monsters seduce us with our own fantasies to fuel their nirvana. Very creepy.
