The Smart Boy by Ben Revermann

This unsettling tale is reminiscent of the erstwhile TV series "Flash Forward". I particularly liked the fact that [SPOILER ALERT] the one person who had her head screwed on straight was an aluminum-foil-hat-wearing woman with downs syndrome. Nice.

All-in-all, this feels like the start of a bigger story.

Biggest complaint: the tense shifted several times. That made it hard to follow.

Great, tinfoil rules! But, why didn't the guy shoot at the alien thing when he got the cop's gun?

Fun story; I liked it.
I was raised by humans. What's your excuse?
