Hope from the Eternal Damned by Patrick Jagielski
This is a compelling story that lingers after the first reading. The protagonist, Cheveyo, is so sympathetic that I find myself agreeing with his choices, however politically incorrect. Use of the present tense brings the setting closer, and I feel that I am reading a report from a distant friend.
Although the title implies that Cheveyo’s choice costs too much, I expect he will succeed in his ambition. I look forward to reading more from Mr. Jagielski.
