Another interesting type of setting device.

This time we have extremely precise dating:
" 05/15/93
6:14am"

I'm out of time to determine on a fast pass if these are doctor's notes timestamps or more of an Omniscient Author guide. But either way, we have the setting. Quick check for "outlandish stuff":

Although the character can't remember things, the time stamp changes days, so it's not Groundhog Day. They go forward, so no crazy "live backwards" stuff is going on. Seems to be just a simple psychology and human interest tale.
