Re: gynoide fatale poem by J. Davidson Hero

A gynoide is anything which resembles or pertains to the female human form. The term has more recently been applied to a humanoid robot designed to more accurately look like a human female with much more realism than normal androids, or of those with a sexual connotation. However, it has not gained popular usage to refer specifically to female robots, as the term android is used almost universally to refer to robotic humanoids regardless of apparent gender. Android is perceived as implying a male-styled robot according to some cultural readings however.[1][2][3][4][5]

Just in case you all didn't know. I certainly didn't.

$10K, starting price, for a sex gynoide in Japan. I wonder if they use li-on?

I never fully appreciated short haiku poetry until Robin started those challenges in Fun and Games, where writing poetry collectively with others, three words written at a time by each poet.

This may not be traditional haiku, but it takes talent to create in brevity.

John is a gifted writer and I look forward to his entry again into the flash challenges.

Thanks for the comments Rick and Mark. For the record, I categorize my poem as a SciFaiku. The SciFaiku Manifesto (http://scifaiku.com/what/) describes it like this: "SciFaiku takes its form from contemporary international haiku. A usual poem is 3 lines and contains about 17 syllables. The topic is science fiction. It strives for a directness of expression and beauty in its simplicity."

I'll let you guys judge whether my poem is effective or not.

It IS effective John. It is amazing how you can take 10 words and show a scene that would take 1,000 words to explain.

I'm learning that every word is precious in writing.

Polycarbonate is an unbreakable plastic. You're personifying a soulless, artificial automaton that can kill a romantic mood with any human life form by...oh, I don't know...death!

Sometimes one art form inspires another. I can visualize an art piece amplifying this image and it's message.

Oh, and it's good to have you back!

Well, not quite . . . but it's close enough that learning HOW to break it is more by accident than intent. I know this from experience.

Cool poem, btw.
I was raised by humans. What's your excuse?

Thanks Lester.

By the way, did anyone catch the hidden words in my poem.

Peril lies = paralyze
polycarbonate eyes = carbonize (okay that ones a stretch)
electric = trick

It's the poem within the poem, and it's what the fembot can do with her deadly electric kiss,

paralyze
carbonize
trick

;D
